A fight among youths resulted in the premature closure of a carnival at the Northtown Mall in Blaine this weekend.

The Blaine Police Department said officers who were working security on Saturday around 7 p.m. reported about 200 youths between the ages of 14 and 17 "gathering and being rowdy" at a carnival outside of the mall.

Police used a drone overhead that captured the incident play out, as seen in the video above.

The incident forced the early shutdown of the carnival for the second consecutive year.

At 7:30 p.m., several of the kids began to fight, with officers stepping in to break it up. Authorities claim officers were physically attacked in the process, as other juveniles from the crowd "continued to kick and punch others who were on the ground."

One youth jumped on the back of an officer and another youth struck the officer in the head with her elbow. The officer was later diagnosed with a concussion, police say.

Officers continued to attempt to disperse the crowd but some youths would step around officers to kick others who were laying on the ground. Other juveniles swung at officer and tried to pass by them to continue fighting.

Law enforcement says the ordeal was captured on multiple cellphone videos.

Authorities say the incident went on for about three minutes until an officer threatened the use of chemical spray.

Two people involved in the fight were arrested and have pending assault charges with additional charges to possibly follow.

The carnival is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday and run through Sunday. Authorities said fencing will be installed around the carnival grounds which will direct visitors to one entry point.

Additionally, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed at any time without a parent or guardian.
