BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Earlier this month, KX News reported on multiple tips from the public that Ferguson Books in Bismarck was closing its doors.

That has now been confirmed, and the Bismarck location will be permanently closed on April 27. The bookstore temporarily reopened for many who are looking to stop in one last time.

Owner Dane Ferguson says he and his wife live with their four children in Fargo, and it was getting to be too much to take care of the business from the other side of the state. Now, in the final year of their lease, they made the difficult decision to move on.

“It’s really sad because I absolutely loved this space, I loved the downtown vibe, I loved the exposed brick in our section that we had so many compliments on,” shared Ferguson. “With us being here for almost six years, it is tough to leave, but just like anything, there is a season in life.”

If you’re looking to stop in and buy some discounted books, Ferguson says it will be open April 19 and 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On April 27, they’ll be having one last hurrah for Independent Bookstore Day, where they’ll have a book signing with local Vietnam veteran and author, Lee Rebsom.
