BERLIN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Utz Brands snacks announced the sale of their Berlin, Pa. and Fitchburg, Mass. facilities as they transition to be under the “ Our Home ” brand snacks portfolio.

While Utz and their 168 employees will remain for the time being, the company will be transitioning to Our Home brand snacks over the next few months. Our Home might be better known for what may be their most popular snack, “Popchips.”

The Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kevin Brick, said that under a co-manufacturing agreement, both facilities will continue to produce certain Utz products in the future. However, which Utz products Our Home chooses to keep is unknown at this time.

This transition will allow them to focus on the next phase of their optimization efforts, according to Brick.

“We now operate eight primary manufacturing facilities, down from sixteen in 2021, allowing us to allocate more volume to our larger manufacturing facilities and better leverage our fixed costs,” Brick said. “This is all consistent with the supply chain transformation strategy we outlined at our 2023 Investor Day”

In addition to Popchips, Our Home’s portfolio of snacks includes: Food should taste good, You need this, From the ground up, and Good health, including items from sweet potato crackers to churro puffs.
