The lower level is arranged and furnished as a simulated residence. At any residential fire, the first unit on scene sends interior trained and qualified firefighters into the structure, when it is safe to do so, to search for anyone who may be trapped or incapacitated inside. “This gives our younger firefighters hands-on training in the safety of a controlled environment,” WSVFC Chief Joshua Wells said.
