RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) - Come July 1, cities across the state will have a greater say in where liquor stores can and can’t operate within their corporate limits. Gov. Tate Reeves recently signed H.B. 776, a measure that gives municipalities the ability to amend their zoning laws to provide more limitations on where package stores can set up shop.

Millions of dollars in state funds coming to Jackson, metro area after governor signs appropriations bill
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Tens of millions of dollars is on its way to Jackson and the Jackson metro area, with Gov. Tate Reeves signing two state appropriations bills. On Monday, Reeves signed S.B. 2468, which includes $9.4 million in allocations for the capital city, and millions of dollars more for other parts of the metro. He also signed H.B. 1983, which included an additional $2 million to make repairs at the Hinds County Courthouse.
