BARNSDALL, Okla. — A community meeting in Barnsdall provided an update on the community's recovery efforts following the EF4 tornado .

FOX23 was at Barnsdall Elementary, where city officials invited volunteers and residents.

The city needs volunteers to sign up after the devastation caused by the tornado. They said the community has lost 64 homes that were leveled by the severe weather — 121 homes were damaged and 185 homes in total were affected.

Volunteers who signed up Thursday morning were given yellow wrist bands, car passes and were divided up to help cleanup efforts.

Along with volunteers, the city needs trailers to transport debris. Tree limbs and anything green is to go to Lake Waxhoma and house debris is to go behind the library.

There are four roll offs off 5th and Main for anyone in Barnsdall to throw away regular house trash.

The gas station is back up and running. City officials say they want to start having meetings every morning.

FOX23 will continue to follow the recovery efforts in Barnsdall and Bartlesville.
