Riverside Bulldog Baseball Knocking off the Rust to Start the Season
(Oakland, IA) – The Riverside Bulldogs are knocking the rust off here in the early portion of the season. With multiple Riverside players getting out of the soccer and track and field seasons, these players are getting thrown right into the mix. Riverside’s first game against West Monona was unfortunately interrupted by the weather on Monday as the Bulldogs now jump into a few tough games against conference opponents. Head Coach Cole Chapin is looking for his players to knock off the rust and get back to playing their game of baseball.
Emergency Medical Services Deemed Essential Service in Cass County
(Atlantic, IA) Cass County had its weekly Board of Supervisors meeting today (Tuesday) discussing an important topic on emergency medical services. Under Iowa Code 422D, Cass County has now declared emergency medical services to be an essential service. With EMS becoming a new essential service, Cass County is now able to receive funding for emergency medical services through taxing the people of Cass County.

Pottawattamie County collision kills 1, injures another
(Walnut) -- A Lincoln woman was killed in a collision in Pottawattamie County Tuesday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred on westbound Interstate 80 near the 48.55 mile maker near Walnut at around 4 p.m. where a 2021 Freightliner semi truck was stopped in the left lane due to a prior vehicle crash. Authorities say a 2015 Honda Odyssey, driven by 45-year-old Emma Gonzalez Maldonado of Lincoln, was westbound on I-80 when it failed to slow down and come to a stop before striking the semi. The patrol says the collision caused the Honda to spin out and strike the trailer of a third vehicle before coming to rest on the right shoulder of the interstate.
