Geneva (Ill.) Geneva County Talyn Taylor is ready to move into the next, and final phase of his recruitment. The four-star wide receiver has official visits scheduled with Georgia (May 31), Notre Dame (June 14) and Ohio State (June 21).

Michigan and Ole Miss are on Taylor’s radar too, but it is likely to come down to the Bulldogs, Irish and Buckeyes.

“The three schools I have official visits set up with are the main ones,” Taylor told On3. “If I have time, I could add another visit or two, but when I commit, I am likely going to commit to Georgia, Notre Dame or Ohio State.

“All there are top-tier programs. They are known for their prestige, that dog mentality, they chase national championships and each has great academics. All three are top programs.”

Early in the process, the buzz was around Notre Dame. That shifted to Georgia earlier this year. How close is the race now?

“It is pretty close between all three schools,” Taylor added. “When I commit later this summer, I will make sure every box is checked for me. On these official visits, I will ask tough questions, get the answers and see what the coaches and the players say. These official visits will help me make my decision.”

The No. 82 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking has visited Athens four times, South Bend five times and Columbus twice. He saw each this spring.

Taylor talks Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State

Georgia: “It is about Coach Kirby Smart , Coach James Coley at that culture in Athens. I have been messing with Coach Smart since my first visit and we have built a great relationship since. Georgia is just a great program.”

Notre Dame: Coach Marcus Freeman and Coach Mike Brown are great guys. Coach Brown started recruiting me at Cincinnati, so we have been in contact since I was a freshman. He saw something in me early and that means something.”

Ohio State: “Coach Brian Hartline has that track record with wide receivers. That is big. Coach Ryan Day is a great head coach and Coach Chip Kelly is a great offensive coordinator. Coach Kelly recruited me at UCLA and he has a great offensive mind.”
