ANNAPOLIS, MD — If you can help with the cost of processing deer meat for needy residents the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has a grant program to support you. Counties, towns and non profits can apply for up to $25,000 to be granted on a first come, first served basis. The deadline to apply is June 16. Get an application online at https://dnr.maryland.gov/wildlife/Pages/Venison-Donation-Grant-Program.aspx. All the deer meat processed will have come from licensed hunters who donate the deer to the program. The meat, once processed, will go to organizations in Maryland that feed the hungry.
