LCSO Investigates Armed Robbery at Sterling Gas Station
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery and assault that occurred at a Sterling convenience store early Wednesday morning. According to the report, deputies were called to the Exxon gas station at the Rt. 606/Pacific Boulevard intersection just after 1:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a man entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. He struck the store employee in the head with the gun before fleeing the area. The employee was treated at the scene.

Loudoun Schools Cancel Afternoon Activities Citing Air Quality Alert
Loudoun County Public Schools has canceled all afternoon activities for Wednesday, June 7 due to poor air quality. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has issued a Code Red Air Quality Alert, in part due to smoke from wildfires in Canada drifting into the region. The alert means air pollution concentrations within the region are unhealthy for the general population, and that everyone should take precautions. Residents are advised to stay indoors and minimize their activity and exercise outside.

Car crashes into Rockville restaurant; 2 hospitalized, officials say
ROCKVILLE, Md. (7News) — Montgomery County rescue crews were at the scene of a Rockville restaurant after a car reportedly crashed into it Wednesday evening. The Montgomery County Police Department explained that the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Peter's Grill in the 500 block of E Gude Drive. The driver of the car was able to get out of the vehicle on under their own power and was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, police said. One other person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
Man Arrested at Airport for Probation Violation in Virginia
A man was arrested at the Cyril E. King Airport Monday due to an outstanding warrant in Virginia, the V.I. Police Department reported. Claude Corey Marshall, 36, was arrested after Marshall was going through pre-boarding screening, and the inspection revealed that Marshall had an active warrant for his arrest for a probation violation, with the underlying charges being possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property, out of Fairfax County, Virginia, according to the police report.
Loudoun County School Board Chooses Not to Challenge Court Order for Confidential B&K Report
