ANTIGO — As we close the 23-24 school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our staff, students, and families. The link between families and school is not just important; it’s vital. On March 7th, our students and families participated in our Middle School Wax Museum, our Discovering Wisconsin learning, and our 6/7th grade academic and career planning portfolio night. Over 500 families attended the event, and we were all inspired by the achievements of our students, who showcased their knowledge and skills with great enthusiasm.

Our families participated in a survey and were asked, “What was something valuable you learned from attending our middle school event?” and sent back a variety of enthusiastic responses:

“Information about Wisconsin and the importance of relationships with families and the school.”

“Our students will use their Portfolio presentation throughout their schooling until 12th grade.”

“The lessons learned through this experience have been a good learning experience. All the work and preparation to perform in front of many adults. Impressive how students worked so hard on their projects, so many new fun facts.”

“I’ve learned a lot about WI. My grandson talks about “breaking apart words” and sounds out words more than he used to.”

“Students showed teamwork, and you could tell they were proud of their work!”

The presence of parents in schools not only provides additional academic support, but creates community and cultural connections. Your support and involvement are key to your child’s education and social development.

Each grade is working to complete this year’s academic and behavior goals and prepare for the next school year. We have transition events planned for incoming 3rd-grade students/families and our 7th-grade students as they prepare to move to the high school for 8th grade. Our district provides summer school opportunities, and our community offers a variety of activities through the Park and Recreation Department. As a school and community, we strive to provide opportunities for each child.
