    Police: Altoona duo arrested with nearly $40k in drugs

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Police Department , with the help of K9-Blue, arrested two people who had active warrants and were allegedly found possessing drugs.

    Miranda Confer, 30, and Christopher Bennett, 33, both of Altoona, are facing a handful of drug charges after being pulled over by police on Tuesday.

    Police said they were conducting a traffic stop around 1:15 p.m. and pulled the duo over for a traffic violation. Police determined that the two had outstanding warrants and were subsequently arrested.

    During a search, police found a silver cylinder with white residue inside on Confer, according to the Altoona Police Department.

    K-9 Blue then assisted in searching the area for drugs, which he was alerted to. Police had the vehicle impounded and searched it on Wednesday.

    Inside the vehicle, the Altoona Police Department said they found the following:

    • 364 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine valued at $36,400
    • 4.5 grams of Heroin valued at approximately $2,500
    • 1 gram of fentanyl valued at $500
    • $1,017
    • A digital scale
    • Various drug paraphernalia

    Bennett and Confer are both charged with three felony counts of drug possession with the intent to sell and misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

    The duo have not been arraigned yet, but are currently in the Blair County Jail.
