Woman charged after officers found nearly 200 people at scene of fight in Winston-Salem
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman is facing charges after hundreds of people were on the scene of a fight in Winston-Salem. Winston-Salem police said around 6:40 p.m., Tuesday officers were called to the 1800 block of North Patterson Avenue about a fight with weapons. When officers arrived, they found nearly 200 people in the middle of the street. Due to the number of uncooperative people, additional officers were called to the scene.

If it rained too much or too hard for a short period of time, her apartment would often flood. “The third time, no one was home, so I got (home), and water was all the way to the door, (it was) about an inch or so of water,” Le’Gette said.
Winston-Salem celebrates opening of new, mixed-income apartments
The Winston-Salem Housing Authority joined city officials and residents Thursday to celebrate the opening of Brown School Lofts at Legacy Heights. The 81-unit apartment complex was funded by a $30 million federal grant and is the first phase of an initiative to create more affordable homes. The mixed-income development replaces the former Cleveland Avenue Homes. Some residents from that complex have already moved in.
Northwest Middle School students facing charges for violent threats, deputies say
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Northwest Middle School student is being charged after making violent threats against the school in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County deputies said. Deputies said social media posts were shared and threatening acts of violence were made against the school. The student can't be identified due to their age. They have been charged with one count of communicating threats of mass violence on school property.
