Power line repair shuts down Interstate 40 in Winston-Salem; 800 without power

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A power line repair has shut down Interstate 40 in Winston-Salem, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

I-40 East is closed at Thomasville Road and I-40 West is closed at the 311/74 interchange.

UAW reaches ‘tentative agreement’ with Daimler Truck, avoids strike

Northbound 311/I-74 traffic coming into Winston-Salem will be shut down prior to the Westbound I-40 ramp.

The closure is in effect while Duke Energy hangs a power line across the interstate. The line is downed and there are 800 homes without power.
