Local clarinetist to attend world-renowned Interlochen Arts Camp
MINSTER — Will Hemmelgarn, 16, a junior at New Bremen High School, will attend this summer’s Interlochen Arts Camp, the nation’s premier summer arts program for aspiring artists in grades 3-12,. Clay was taking in any unused and expired drugs for safe disposal at the Sidney Police Department on Saturday, which was National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Drugs that are not disposed of properly can end up in groundwater. Clay was also offering Narcan for people who may be at risk for a drug overdose.
Looking Back: Old barn may have canal connection
An unassuming barn sits in the backyard of a duplex at 214 Franklin Street. Shelby County Historical Society Plat maps indicate that the barn was built between 1892 and 1897 next to the canal that once ran through the center of Sidney. The canal has since been filled in, but the barn remains.
