Reynolds signs Pottawattamie County disaster declaration
(Minden) -- State assistance is on the way to Pottawattamie County residents impacted by Friday's tornadoes. Over the weekend, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster declaration for Pottawattamie County in response to the massive storms that swept through Minden and other parts of western Iowa. The governor's proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program, and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program. Reynolds' declaration followed a tour of Minden, where approximately 50% of the community's homes were damaged or destroyed by the tornado. The governor says other state assistance is available.
