BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Today will be the coolest day of the week with high temperatures falling to a more seasonable level as rain returns to the area. Cloud cover will build in despite a mild start to the morning with scattered showers moving into the area this afternoon. Most rain chances will remain light and scattered throughout the day today, highs will only be in the low to mid-70s. High pressure builds in for the rest of the workweek, leading to sunny skies and mild temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 80s for Thursday and Friday, and this will be one of the warmest starts to May on record. This is just one year after we saw the coldest start to May last year. We continue to warm up throughout the rest of the week with the potential to break high temperature records across the region both tomorrow and Friday.
