Two women injured in pre-dawn crash on Highway 36 near Marceline
An early morning accident on Highway 36 near Marceline, Missouri, resulted in moderate injuries for two women when their car crashed and struck a tree on April 27. At approximately 4:02 a.m., a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Amnah E. Thabet, 20, of Lenexa, Kansas, was traveling westbound when it failed to navigate a curve. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the car then veered off the left side of the road, collided with a road sign, crossed back over to the right side, and subsequently became airborne. After a second airborne incident, the vehicle slid down an embankment and crashed into a tree.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A local college student is fortunate to be able to live her dream of working behind the counter of a coffee bus following a brain cancer diagnosis. Missouri college student Kiley Lemasters was surprised with the taste of her dream to run a coffee bus after doctors told her she would never live to see it. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2020. She was given three months to live.

Macon couple involved in accident on Highway 36 near Bevier
An accident involving a 2012 Honda Odyssey occurred on Highway 36 westbound, approximately one mile west of Bevier, on the morning of April 23, 2024, at 7:25 a.m. The driver, James A. Busick, 35, of Macon, Missouri, lost control of the vehicle, which then veered off the left side of the highway and struck a ditch. Busick, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, sustained minor damages to his vehicle.
