The Adair County Commission and the Adair County Clerk’s Office will host a public hearing on December 4, 2023. The hearing will discuss the realignment of the county's commission district boundaries. Hitchracks were being installed in locations near the Kirksville public square. Once installed there would be about 3,000 feet of hitchracks for the use of farmers to tie up their horses. The farmer’s agitation for hitchracks started at the time the brick pavement was laid around the public square a few years earlier.
