Expect thunderstorms and gusty winds in 3 N.J. counties until Wednesday evening
A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:43 p.m. for thunderstorms and gusty winds until 8 p.m. for Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties. "Isolated showers and thunderstorms will move through this evening across northern New Jersey. Storms could produce gusts between 35-50 MPH. Cannot rule out some storms producing severe-level gusts up to 60 MPH. Seek sturdy shelter if you hear thunder," according to the weather service.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Millburn Police Officer Luke Lyons, 31, of Randolph who was killed in a crash early Sunday morning. Visitation will be held on the evening of Friday, May 24 at the Tuttle Funeral Home at 272 Highway 10 in Randolph between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta VFW Memorial Day parade, ceremony and barbecue will go on rain or shine. According to VFW Post Commander Pete Litchfield only lightening would stop the parade, which is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m. The parade round will head down East Shore Trail, through White Deer Plaza, up Mohawk Avenue and finish at the Sparta Library.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER A wreath laying ceremony is scheduled immediately following the parade at Dykstra Park. The VFW is hosting a barbecue lunch for the community after the ceremony at the VFW, 66 Main Street. In 2014, Jocelyn and Addison Aquilino of Marlton lost their father, Jim, to suicide. Two years later, their mother signed them up for a bereavement camp in Warren County to help the girls cope with his death and to meet other kids who had also lost a loved one to suicide.
