Unique Christmas Shopping to Help Those in Need
The 13th Annual Christmas Market to benefit two Morristown-based charities operating in Africa will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 2-7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Assumption Church, Rauscher Hall, 91 Maple Ave., Morristown. Volunteers will be selling African handicrafts from Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, and Kenya, fine art photography, note cards, wood crafts, Christmas ornaments and live plants, gift items, and many, many baked goodies. Shop to help Africa Surgery (africasurgery.org) bring doctors and patients together in Sierra Leone for life-saving medical care and also to assist The Village Angels of Tanzania (thevillageangels-tanzania.org) employ at-risk local youths to make weekly food deliveries, hut repair, and general healthcare to isolated elderly poor people who have no family assistance.
