Funeral services have been scheduled for Millburn Police Officer Luke Lyons, 31, of Randolph who was killed in a crash early Sunday morning.

Visitation will be held on the evening of Friday, May 24 at the Tuttle Funeral Home at 272 Highway 10 in Randolph between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Funeral services will also be held at the Tuttle Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25 beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will follow the service at Graceland Memorial Park at 1900 Galloping Hill Road in Kenilworth beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Lyons was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Route 15 in Jefferson early Sunday morning.

Lyons was driving a 2006 four-door Honda Civic at the time of the crash, said Jefferson police Capt. Robert Bush. Specifics on how the crash occurred remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon and "anything at this point would be speculation," Bush added.

Bush said it is believed Lyons was off duty at the time.

Originally born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he lived in Randolph with his wife, Selvette Lyons, and their children.

"As a devoted husband and caring father, Luke always prioritized others. His impact as a leading force in the police department will forever resonate with his brothers and sisters in blue," says his obituary. "The void left by Officer Lyons' untimely loss can never be fully healed, but his legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew and admired him."

A GoFundMe that was set up by the Millburn Police Department has raised over $63,000 for Lyons' family.

Staff writer Lori Comstock contributed to this report.
