Fairmont man found dead in car wreck, investigation underway
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Officials have confirmed that one person is deceased after an accident in Monongalia County on Wednesday. Officials with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release that deputies were dispatched to Smithtown Rd, near the intersection of Smithtown School Rd, for a single vehicle traffic crash.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - UPDATE: 911 officials confirm that Route 50 westbound is now open. The road was cleared and opened shortly after 10:20 P.M. They add that the patient was taken by ambulance to United Hospital Center after the accident - the patient’s condition is unclear at this time.
Temperatures Continue Rising for Sunday
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - After seeing cool temperatures throughout most of the week, we are finally heating up and just in time for the weekend. Temperatures started rising above average yesterday and continued today with highs hitting the upper-70s and low-80s across the area. Sunday and Monday temperatures will continue to rise, expect to see highs in the mid to upper-80s and the potential for some record-breaking highs. We will see our next round of rain return Tuesday, but even with a cold front crossing, we will see highs back into the 80s towards the end of the week as we start May on Wednesday.
