Sunset Ellis Drive-In announces season opening date

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Sunset Ellis Drive-In in Harrison County is opening for the 2024 season soon with a “Family Day” event.

According to the Sunset Ellis Drive-In website , the opening will be on Friday, May 17, and on Saturday, May 18, the drive-in will host a grand opening celebration.

The grand opening will include other entertainment in addition to the movie showings, including bounce houses, face painting, a DJ, vendors and other carnival-type activities, according to the Sunset Ellis Restaurant Facebook page .

The movies for opening weekend have not been announced yet, but Sunset shows two movies per night, with the first feature starting at dusk.

An entry fee is required for both the movies and the grand opening carnival; keep in mind that the drive-in and concession stand only accept cash.
