FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Fairmont Police Department is collecting your unused or unwanted medications, no questions asked.

According to a Facebook post by the Fairmont PD , officials will be at the department until 2 p.m. on April 27 to collect medications or bags of medications to place in its disposal boxes. The medications will not be looked at again. While liquids and sharps are not accepted at the dropoff, you can find more information on how to dispose of them while there.

The collection is one of several Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Take Back events, which provide families with “easy, no-cost opportunities to get rid of unnecessary medicines stored in the home that can be susceptible to abuse and theft.”

The Marion County Quick Response Team (QRT) is also at the event to provide additional resources and information.
