Fairmont’s iconic ‘Lava House’ for sale
FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) - After some renovations, the iconic ‘Lava House’ is in search of a new owner. Located on Fairmont Ave, the four-bedroom, six-bath, 4,400-square-foot property brings a unique style to Fairmont. The house was built in 1968 by West Virginia’s first female developer, Carol McWilliams. Since then, there have been two more owners who have emphasized Egyptian and Japanese styles with a flare of Frank Lloyd Wright. Realtor Alethea Wise, who purchased the property last year and lived at the lava house for months as renovations continued, says the next owner is hitting the jackpot.
Fairmont Parks & Recreation community band rehearses for summer concerts
FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) - As summer draws near that means concerts will take place throughout North Central West Virginia. Since 2019 the Fairmont parks and recreation community band has been keeping folks in the friendly city entertained during the summer concert season. On-demand pilot transportation program launches next week in Greene County
GREENE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) - A ride-share pilot program is launching next week to bring more on-demand rides to rural communities.The RAMP program starts with two vans in Greene County and a van that will operate as a shuttle between Waynesburg and Carmichaels.The free rides can be used to access essential services like healthcare, groceries, government and civil services, and work.Starting May 1, you can request a ride on their website or app on weekdays during normal business hours.It's a collaborative effort between Greene County leaders, Waynesburg and Carnegie Mellon universities and the nonprofit Blueprints.
Fairmont man found dead in car wreck, investigation underway
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Officials have confirmed that one person is deceased after an accident in Monongalia County on Wednesday.
