Fairfield Police Arrest 3 Suspects from Paterson on Auto Theft Charges
FAIRFIELD, NJ -- Fairfield police arrested three suspects from Paterson in connection with the theft of an auto. Amer Mousa (23), Laith Husain (25), and Jalal Khalaifah (24) were charged with being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle on May 20. On that date at approximately 3:50 a.m., officers were alerted by the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system of a stolen vehicle that had entered town. It had been reported stolen out of the state of Washington a few days prior. Police say that Officer Sean McCormack located the vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of the La Quinta Hotel on Two Bridges Road. The vehicle was unoccupied, but Officer McCormack found the men inside the hotel lobby. Further investigation determined that all three had been in the vehicle when it arrived at the hotel. Additional officers arrived to assist, and the suspects were placed under arrest.
