Matthew Kukoda is Manasquan High School’s next principal, replacing soon-to-be superintendent
MANASQUAN — The Manasquan Public School District Board of Education announced during its May 14 meeting that current Holmdel High School Principal Matthew Kukoda will join Manasquan High School (MHS) as its new principal next year. Kukoda will be replacing Robert Goodall, who the board previously announced will replace current Superintendent Frank Kasyan upon his retirement at the end of June.

Roselle Softball Compiles 17 Runs In Victory Over Lakewood
ROSELLE, NJ - Roselle Varsity Softball had their best offense on display on Tuesday, defeating Lakewood 17-2. Multiple Rams hitters, including Alycia Searwar, Julianna Marte, and Lisa Frias, had two or more hits. Frias and Searwar each hit a home run with six RBIs combined. Janelle Stevens had a triple that brought home three runs. Upsetters dominate Freehold Friday card
Frehold, NJ – Only two favorites were victorious on the nine-race Friday (May 17) program at Freehold Raceway. The card opened with a thrill in the first race. The 1-2 favorite, Dandy Idea, set the pace all the way into the stretch when her challengers closed in on her. This led to a blanket finish where five horses were within one length of the lead. When the photo finish was called official, it was 27-1 shot Neither Do I, who had the nose over the favorite. Scott DiDomenico was the winning trainer and went on to earn a training double. Jim Marohn Jr was the victorious driver and went on to earn a triple on the card. A win bet paid $57.80.
Southern Boys Volleyball Wins Shore Conference Tournament Championship
LAKEWOOD - On Thursday evening, the Southern Regional Boys Volleyball team defeated Howell 25-22 and 25-21 in the Shore Conference Tournament Championship Game. Southern has a record of 24-2 and is ranked third in the NJ.com poll.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER In the semifinal earlier Thursday, the Rams beat St. John Vianney in two sets to advance to the champoinship. Howell beat St. John Vianny in the other semifinal to advance to face Southern. This was the third straight Southern faced Howell in the SCT final. An amazing fact is that the Southern team under Coach Eric Maxwell has won nine consecutive Shore Conference Tournament titles. Barnegat Falls to Southern in Volleyball Shore Conference Tourney Quarterfinals
STAFFORD - On Monday, May 13, Southern Regional hosted Barnegat in the Shore Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. Southern won both sets by identical 26-24 scores. Southern was led by Jack McKenna's seven kills. A second-half rally led to top-seed Barnegat capturing the inaugural Shore Conference Coaches’ Cup with a 6-5 victory over Brick Memorial in Barnegat. Trailing 5-3 entering the second half, Barnegat (9-9) scored two goals in the third quarter to tie the game. With under three minutes to play in regulation and the game still tied, Bailey Carroll completed the comeback for the Bengals by scoring the go-ahead goal.
