    Youngstown police investigating shooting on North Side

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- The Youngstown Police Department is investigating a shooting on the North Side.

    YPD Captain Jason Simon said police responded to a gunshot victim around 11 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy Health in Youngstown.

    Simon said it became apparent that the victim, a 45-year-old man, was lying about his identity and details surrounding the shooting.

    Simon said police learned the victim’s identity and that the shooting took place in the 700 block of Parmalee Avenue. Police said evidence from the crime scene was collected for the investigation.

    Reports said the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and that there is no information regarding a suspect at this time.
