YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Sentencing will be June 26 for a 19-year-old city man who pleaded guilty Monday for a Jan. 11 shooting that wounded a man in the back.

Joshua Mahone, 19, pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony and a one-year firearm specification.

Mahone must serve a year in prison, and prosecutors will add additional prison time on the firearm specification. Mahone’s attorney is expected to argue for no additional prison time.

Police will not comment on a motive, but the shooting happened on Lakewood Avenue on the South Side.

Mahone is free on bond until his sentencing.
