YAKIMA, Wash. — The Harman Senior Center in Yakima is asking for donations to the sixth annual Veterans Coalition Toiletry Drive.

Leslie Richards with the Harman Center said many of their own seniors are veterans and collecting donations for the drive is a great way to give back and thank them for their service.

    They're accepting donations of:

    • Shampoo
    • Conditioner
    • Body wash
    • Paper towels
    • Toilet paper
    • Laundry detergent
    • Shaving cream
    • Razors
    • Disinfecting wipes
    • Soap
    • Deodorant
    • Toothpaste
    • Toothbrushes
    • Aftershave
    • Dish soap

“We want to give back to the veteran community and it's very important for us to strive each year to be able to do so," Richards said. "We normally have a great turnout for donations.”

Anyone wanting to donate can bring their items during business hours to the front desk of the Harman Center, located at 65th and Summitview avenues. They’ll be accepting donations through June 30 and will be taking those donations to the Veteran's Coalition.
