With air pollution on the rise, state environmental officials are concerned that Connecticut will miss the state’s 2030 emissions-reduction goal if residents are unable to significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Police involved shooting in Naugatuck
The state Office of Inspector General is investigating a police involved shooting in Naugatuck. Police say they were called to Baummer’s Pond in the borough around 9:15 Thursday morning on a report of a man armed with a knife.
Person jumps from window to escape West Hartford house fire
West Hartford fire officials say one person was injured when they jumped from a second floor window to escape a house fire on Wednesday. Just before 4:30 p.m., firefighters were called to the home on Elmhurst Street.

For the second consecutive night, fire broke out at the Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford. Fire officials say the call came in around 2:18 a.m. Sunday from a resident reporting fire visible from the top of the club
