WOODBRIDGE, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Police are investigating a situation where a student who brought a BB gun, got onto a school bus that was headed towards a high school he was not enrolled at.

The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old boy got onto a school bus that was headed towards the high school. He was reportedly lifting his shirt to show that he had a weapon in the waistband of his pants, according to PWCPD.

When the bus arrived at the school, the boy and a group of students got off and headed towards a wooded area that was not on school grounds.

Some other students, who were on the bus and saw the boy flashing the weapon, told school employees who then reported it to police.

Officers eventually found the boy. PWCPD said he goes to a different school within the county.
