Thursday’s World of Outlaws’ Dairyland Showdown Canceled
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — With weather models showing heavy rain Wednesday night in Fountain City and more expected throughout the day on Thursday, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and Mississippi Thunder Speedway officials agreed to cancel Thursday’s portion of the Dairyland Showdown to preserve the facility for racing on Friday and Saturday.
G-E-T baseball suffers three losses
A rivalry game on Monday and two other conference contests filled a slate of three games for the G-E-T baseball program last week. Norse golfers third in DC two meets
The Dairyland Conference golf season has been competitive so far as the top two teams are separated by just two points after three meets. Defending champion Cochrane-Fountain City currently has the lead with 34 points, but Alma/Pepin won a competition last week — after C-FC swept DC play last season — and sits two points back. The Whitehall golf team is third overall with 22 points after finishing as the second runner-up in two competitions last week, Eleva-Strum has 20 points followed by Augusta (12) and Independence/Gilmanton (six). I/G has had just two golfers in conference competitions so far.
