Man dies in Galesville lake, apparent suicide
(KWNO)-A person is dead after an apparent suicide in Galesville on Tuesday morning. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious person on Lake Court around 8:00 a.m. Deputies believed the man was having a mental health crisis and tried to approach him but the man went into Lake Marinuka, swam to the middle of the lake and then disappeared from view, according to a press release. Several area dive teams, including Winona Dive and Rescue, were called to the scene and found the man dead at the bottom of the lake. The search lasted more than two hours. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office says it will not be releasing the man’s name.
Winona Man Enters Plea Deal to Settle Rochester Area Drug, Theft Cases
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Winona man has entered a plea agreement to settle an Olmsted County drug case and three theft cases. 49-year-old Izaak Parker is facing felony charges in all four cases. The drug charges were filed against Parker last July as part of an investigation involving a trailer reported stolen from an Eyota business.
Tractor fire still under investigation
(KWNO)-A tractor fire on Saturday in Winona is still under investigation. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office and Ridgeway Fire Department were called to the property in the 26,000 of County Road 15 on Saturday morning. According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson the owner filled the tractor with fuel on Saturday morning but didn’t start it and then left the area. Neighbors saw the tractor on fire a short time later and called authorities. The tractor was completely engulfed when firefighters arrived and is a total loss. The estimated value of the tractor is $65,000.

Prosecution plans to introduce evidence of domestic abuse at murder trial of Adam Fravel
WINONA, Minn. – Prosecutors have filed notice they plan to seek an aggravated sentence against the man accused of killing Madeline Kingsbury. Adam Taylor Fravel, 29 of Mabel is facing charges of first and second-degree murder for allegedly killing Kingsbury on March 31. The Winona County Attorney’s Office has now filed notice with the court it intends to seek a stiffer sentence in this case than usual.
