Intracoastal Angler, a local provider of premium fishing gear and tackle, will be expanding to two locations in Hampstead.

The original location on Oleander Drive has been serving the Wilmington community for over 25 years and provides bait, tackle, supplies and apparel, as well as knowledge that employees are fishermen themselves, according to a press release.

The shop's equipment also includes a wide selection of rods, reels, lures and accessories.

"We are thrilled to be opening a waterfront location at Sloop Point Marina in Hampstead," said owner Jackson David in the release. "We have been serving the Wilmington community for over 25 years, and are excited to expand our reach and bring our expertise and customer service to the Hampstead area."

David said in the release that the plan is for Intracoastal Angler's new locations to become a one-stop shop for all things fishing in the area.

The Intracoastal Angler team plans to host fishing tournaments and other events from the Sloop Point location while also offering live bait, cold beer and ice to the public. David also said the shop will carry tackle, some last-minute supplies and some boating necessities for anyone going out on the water.

The second location, will be located northbound on U.S. 17 and will be similar to the location in Wilmington as it will carry not just bait, tackle and supplies, but also Intracoastal Angler apparel and other popular brands.

David said his team is working on moving into the Sloop Point Marina location and it will be open in about two weeks. The shop will be open seven days a week -- from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

The second location will break ground later in the year.
