Wilmington’s first Sheetz to open July 30
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The first Sheetz in Wilmington is set to open on Tuesday, July 30, according to a press release. Per the announcement, the 2517 Shipyard Blvd. location will open to the public at 8 a.m., and free soda and self-serve coffee will be offered all day to celebrate the grand opening.
Hatchlings steal show at OKI nest excavation
Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program shared a rare opportunity last week as a trio of special guests made a surprise public appearance on their way home. On July 18, turtle fans of all ages witnessed three hatchlings take their first steps after an OISTPP volunteer uncovered them during a nest excavation near the 2900 block of East Ocean Drive. Nest. No. 4 of 2024 boiled July 15 and OISTPP is required to wait 72 hours before excavating the site to count eggs and look for any live hatchlings that couldn’t make it to the surface.

This isn’t the first time we’ve told you about Casey’s Buffet, the Wilmington North Carolina Buffet restaurant that continues to garner praise. I have to admit though, I’m not a frequent buffet visitor. And look, I have no complaints about the option to try many things on the menu for one cost. However, I personally just don’t eat enough to justify that cost in most cases. Now if they let me take food to-go? That would be another story!
