    Spring Vendor and Craft Fair

    On May 11 starting at 9 a.m. Cabin Lake in Pink Hill is hosting a pop up market. Please call 910-298-3648 for more information and if you would like to join as a vendor for $20. The event is free to the public.

    BBQ Cook Off

    Chinquapin Volunteer Fire & Rescue is hosting a BBQ cook off on May 11 at Chinquapin Ball Field. BBQ plates sell for $10 each. BBQ judging starts at 9 a.m., fire truck judging at 10 a.m., followed by a plant sale at 11 a.m.

    Wagon Tour

    The Mount Olive Area Historical Society and Steele Memorial Library will co-sponsor a wagon tour of Mount Olive on May 11. The tour is free, but tickets are required and can be picked up at the Library’s Reference Desk beginning Monday, May 6. Participants will depart from Town Hall, 114 East James Street at 10:00 AM.     Health Fair

    Duplin County Culture & Community Health Fair takes place on May 18 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 165 Agriculture Drive. Health screenings, educational materials, raffles, games, and prizes will be available in the afternoon.

    Golf Tournament

    The Beulaville Area Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on May 31 at the Bear Trail Golf Club with tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For more details, call 910-262-5272.

    Fundraiser Dinner

    The Greenevers Park & Recreation Committee is hosting a Grilled Chicken Dinner Fundraiser to support our community youth and senior citizen projects and activities on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenevers Center on 494 Clinic Circle Drive in Rose Hill.

    Community Yard Sale

    The Democratic Party of Duplin County is hosting a community day and yard sale in Kenan Park on June 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artisans, local representatives, and food trucks will be there throughout the day. The park is located at 417 S. Main St., Kenansville.

    Food truck and vendor festival

    The 2024 Duplin County Food Truck & Vendor Festival will be held at the Duplin Events Center, 247 Fairgrounds Dr., Kenansville, from noon to 7:30 p.m. on June 22. It will include food trucks, vendors, music and more. Rock, country, and dance bands will be performing this year. Admission is $5 at the door.     The pantry at Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries, 514 S. Norwood Street in Wallace is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11:30 a.m. DCOM will provide a referral to verified applicants. Call 910-285-6000. The DCOM Mobile Pantry vehicle services Wallace, Magnolia, Faison, Albertson, Mount Olive, Warsaw and the Scott Store community area. Qualifying seniors (65 or older) and disabled individuals who are not able to visit can call 910-285-6000 or 910-285-6500 for accommodations.

    The Duplin County NAACP holds monthly meetings on first Sundays at 4 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church on 259 Jack Dale Rd., Wallace N.C. 28466.

    The Helping Hands Pantry at Wallace Presbyterian Church, 205 W Main Street in Wallace is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11:45 a.m. DCOM will provide a referral to verified applicants. For information, call 910-285-6000.

    Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there is free food, basic needs items as well as health screenings and several other resources available to the public at the Shacklefree office located at 224 W. College St., Suite B, Warsaw, N.C. For information, call 910-226-8138.

    Every first and third Wednesday of the month, the city of Wilmington Parks & Rec Department hosts a Wheelchair Basketball Open Gym from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the MLK Center on 401 S. 8 St. Contact Abby Smith at 910-772-4170 if you have any questions or concerns.

    The Duplin County Health Department is offering Diabetes Self Management Classes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 340 Seminary Street in Kenansville.

    Duplin County Beekeepers meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Duplin Extension Center.

    The Duplin Democratic Party County meetings run the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm at James Sprunt Community College in Monk Auditorium. Open to all.
