WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Wichita Falls Railroad Museum is on the right track to rebuilding history after a lease was secured with the city to reopen.

Not only can you expect to see historic rail cars at the Railroad Museum, but it also has some new things in store, like historic re-enactments of shootouts and bank robberies.

The museum will also host events like murder mystery parties, Christmas parades and more.

According to Program Director Jan Saville, the realist retellings will bring a different perspective to visitors each time, all in order to tell the history of Wichita Falls.

“I think it’s going to be a great thing for downtown. You know, people come downtown, and I happen to have a business down here, but when they come, they ask, ‘What is there to do?” Saville said. “I’d love to have them come here. It’s going to be family-friendly, so I think that will be a really good addition to our downtown vibe that we got going on. Downtown is where it’s happening, and we want to be a part of that.”

Though making progress in its reopening, the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum still needs help from volunteers and donors.
