Strong storms are possible for Memorial Day
Memorial Day begins humid and mostly sunny. The majoirty of the afternoon will be dry allowing highs to reach the low 90s. By the late afternoon into the early evening, scattered showers and storms will develop inland before pushing east. Any storms that do develop could produce gusty winds, hail, or heavy rain. Areas north of I-16 are highlighted in a 'Slight' risk for severe weather.
Two ex-Savannah cops turn themselves into jail
SAVANNAH, Ga. — Just two days after being indicted, a pair of former Savannah police detectives have turned themselves into the Chatham County jail. Ashley Wood was charged four counts of perjury and four counts of violation of oath of office. Darryl Repress was charged with three counts of perjury, two counts of violation of oath of office and one count of making a false statement.
