When 51-year-old Carlos Lopez-Torres, a Springfield father, was killed Sunday evening in a jet ski crash while enjoying the day with family and friends on the Connecticut River in Northampton, he left behind many loved ones reeling from his sudden loss.

WESTFIELD — A social media post asking for help identifying teenagers believed to have stolen a touchscreen kiosk inside the Taco Bell on East Main Street worked. Westfield Police Detective Richard Mazza said that on Wednesday, a day after the department published several photographs of the teens fiddling around with the customer-ordering kiosk, he got a call from the principal of an Agawam school.
Lightning arrester catches on fire causing power outage in Westfield
WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - On Thursday night, there was a power outage throughout Westfield due to a lightning arrester that caught on fire. According to Thomas Flaherty of Westfield Gas and Electric, a third arrester that was operated caught on fire on Grand Street, which shut off the majority of electricity throughout the city.
