    Suspect takes elderly woman’s purse in West Springfield, poses as her son

    WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man in connection to the theft of an elderly woman’s purse.

    The man in the images below is alleged to have taken the woman’s purse on May 8th around 4:00 p.m. at a business on Memorial Avenue. The man seen smiling in the surveillance images allegedly posed as the victim’s son when grabbing her wallet.

    The victim told detectives that she did have a son but he had passed away years ago.
