A man who allegedly abducted his year-old son in West Covina, prompting the issuance of an Amber Alert, was found Wednesday and the boy was recovered safely.

The boy, Weston Landrum, had last been seen near North Grand Avenue and Fairway Lane, according to an alert from the California Highway Patrol, which issued the Amber Alert overnight on behalf of the West Covina Police Department.

The alert identified the suspect as 46-year-old Wesley Williams, who -- according to broadcast reports -- is the boy's father. The alert also indicated that Williams was driving a 2024 white Toyota Tacoma pickup.

Late Wednesday morning, the Tacoma was found in West Covina, less than two miles from the location where the boy had last been seen. West Covina police said Williams was taken into custody, and the boy recovered.

According to reports from the scene, the boy appeared to be unharmed, but was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
