Historical landmark now available to community as an Airbnb

WELLSBURG, W.Va. (WTRF) — A historic landmark in Wellsburg that has been around since the early 1900’s has been revitalized, and now you have the opportunity to spend a few nights there.

Don’t plan your next weekend getaway just yet, as the Lucas Walter House on Main Street in Wellsburg is officially an Arabian Nights bed and breakfast.

The house was built in 1906 by a man who was hired by Lucas Walter. In 2021, Danielle Thomas bought the home from the previous owner. Just a few years later she revitalized the home into Arabian Nights LLC, a place where the community can rent out various rooms in it through Airbnb.

Thomas says she preserved as many of the original pieces in the home as she could and is excited to share the property with the community. She says this opportunity she came across is something that she never thought would come this far.

”To be part of history is something that I just never thought I’d have that opportunity. I’ve always been part of my community, no matter where I’ve lived, but they’ve been extremely welcoming and very supportive here during this whole process, and I’ve just loved every bit of it and it’s nice to be part of that community and to be part of history.”

The house sits just off the Ohio River and just about every room in the house has a beautiful waterfront view.
