Corning-Painted Post state champion athletes recognized by state officials
CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Corning-Painted Post athletes were recognized by state officials on Monday for their titles and achievements. Senator Tom O'Mara and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano presented official legislative resolutions they sponsored, honoring the athletes for being state champions. Among those recognized were the boys bowling team for capturing the Division I Bowling Championship, Taylor Farrell, who won the 1500-Meter Race Walk, Angelina McKane, who won both the girls 50-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Butterfly titles in swimming, and the girls varsity softball team that won the first-ever Class AAA state softball title.
'A great way to end the school year': Pine Valley students keep 20-year tradition alive
SOUTH DAYTON, NY — On Wednesday, the members of the FFA at Pine Valley Jr/Sr. School drove tractors to school, to celebrate agriculture and community. "We're a very rural community and one of the largest districts in the county. It's just neat to have the kids come out and show their support doing this with the tractors and the horses," said Pine Valley Agriculture Teacher Isaac Habermehl.
