Minnesota high school opens first-of-its-kind smudging space for students
SHAKOPEE, Minn. — A Minnesota high school is the first in the state with an on-campus space for a native cultural practice.Smudging is the burning of sacred herbs meant to ground oneself, and reset the energy in a space. Bishop Williams blesses St. Kolbe school’s first graduates in decades
Five eighth-grade students graduated this year from St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic School. This year’s eighth-grade class was the school’s first to graduate since 1975, when 25 graduated. Father Kyle Kowalczyk and Principal Bridget Schulz presented the “Fabulous Five,” as the school referred to them, with their diplomas during a Tuesday morning ceremony at St. Peter church.
Westonka seniors get $344K in community scholarships
Mound Westonka High School hosted the annual Scholarship Awards Night on May 15, when 75 scholarships worth over $344,000 from 52 different donors were awarded to 67 members of the 2024 graduating class. Teri Staloch to lead Robbinsdale Schools
