2 separate Minneapolis shootings leave 3 people injured
MINNEAPOLIS — Three people were injured in two separate shootings on opposite sides of Minneapolis Saturday night, police said. All three are expected to be OK.A man and woman were driving west on Interstate 94 just after 10:30 p.m. when someone fired shots from another vehicle, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. They exited the highway at Broadway Street and called 911.Both people were hospitalized with survivable injuries, police said.A few minutes later on the other side of town, a man was walking on East Franklin Avenue near Hiawatha Avenue when he "heard gunfire and felt pain," police said. He was also hospitalized and should survive.No one has been arrested in connection with either shooting.
Southern Minnesota man fatally shot in Minneapolis, authorities say
MINNEAPOLIS — A southern Minnesota man was shot early Friday in Minneapolis and died hours later at a hospital, according to authorities.The shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. on the 2200 block of Fifth Avenue North, the Minneapolis Police Department said. Officers responded and found a man with multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds.The man was taken to Hennepin Healthcare, where he died later that morning, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. The medical examiner identified the man as 28-year-old Da'Vonte Adams of Spring Valley, which is about 30 miles south of Rochester.Police are investigating the shooting but have not yet made any arrests.
17-year-old boy arrested after standoff in north Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS — A Hennepin County deputy saw a person fire a gun in north Minneapolis on Friday morning, leading to a standoff outside a residence that was resolved when a teenager was arrested.The sheriff's office says the deputy saw the boy fire a gun and run into a home on the 1500 block of Olive Avenue North. Law enforcement officers secured the perimeter and WCCO crews at the scene observed a heavy law enforcement presence, including SWAT vehicles, outside a residence.A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff's office said. He was booked into a juvenile detention center for reckless discharge and weapons violations. No one was injured, the sheriff's office said.
