Children's Developmental Center of Lima raises money for services with annual Bowl-A-Thon
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Bowlers came out Saturday to raise money for the Children's Developmental Center of Lima. The annual Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser saw dozens of families come out to play during two separate shifts. The agency says that over 90% of their funding comes from donations and events like this.
Laps for Life raises money for the American Cancer Society
ELIDA, OH (WLIO) - Elida High School student organizations are working together to raise money to fight cancer. Laps for Life is an annual event put on by the Elida National Honor Society to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Students and community members visited booths hosted by the girls’ tennis team, the senior and sophomore classes, and other student clubs to raise money for cancer research. Cancer is a disease that affects every community, and the students know the importance of every step they make to beat it.
West Central Learning Academy awarded high marks from the State of Ohio

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce presented the school with their Exceeding the Standards banner for their outstanding academic achievement for the last school year. Tom Carter Project: Live band tribute to late music super fan
Tom Carter, who was 61 when he passed away on March 22, 2022, was a fixture on the Dayton rock scene from the late 1970s onward. Appropriately, his adult daughters Coral Stroup and China Carter are hosting the Tom Carter Project, a tribute to the music super fan at Moulton Gun Club in Wapakoneta on Saturday. Legbone, the Most Falcons, Invisible Strings, A La Carte and Bandages will perform. Proceeds benefit WYSO.
