Greenfield sub shop now selling award-winning sandwiches from trailer
It's been two years since Josh Bizub officially went from part-time employee to owner of Goldcoast Subs in Greenfield. In that time, he's heard many customers' pleas for a second location. But that is too much of a financial burden for the 22-year-old entrepreneur right now. "I see the rent prices," he said. "I don't know if that's the best thing to do." So, as business owners do, the successful ones at least, Bizub came up with an alternative solution. If he couldn't bring customers to another location, what if he brought another location to them? Bizub bought a 20-foot car hauler for $6,000 last year, and spent months outfitting it to make and serve sandwiches. He redid the floor, put up walls and a ceiling, added a commercial pizza prep cooler and heat and air conditioning. Another $10,000 later, the Goldcoast Subs food trailer was born. Bizub unveiled the trailer on July 10 at Bark After Dark in Greenfield's Konkel Park. He has also hauled it to the Turf Skatepark and Waukesha County Courthouse, and its next public appearance will be at Greenfield's Maple Grove Elementary School Oct. 16. Customers can buy almost everything that made Goldcoast the best
