Identity released from fatal dirt bike accident in Waterford

( WJET/WFXP ) – The victim of a fatal crash in Waterford late last night has now been identified.

Pennsylvania State police said Thomas Bengel, a 21-year-old male from Waterford, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident along U.S. Route 19 just north of Waterford.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. when state police said Bengel, who was driving a dirt bike north bound along Route 19 without a headlight, collided head on with a vehicle headed south.

State police said the other vehicle involved was a Ford Focus operated by a 65-year-old man from Corry who reportedly had minor injuries.
